TechWorld: IBM has unveiled Storwize V7000, a new mid-range disk storage solution. It uses new compression, deduplication, virtualization and other technologies to help enterprises better manage the data in their systems. For example, the Easy Tier feature makes it possible for companies to store critical data like credit card numbers on solid state drives where it can be accessed quickly. Less important data can be sent to tape or other slower types of storage.
The company has not yet released pricing information for the new product.
