NY Times: The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) had threatened to ban BlackBerry services in the country on Monday, but has reached a last minute deal with BlackBerry maker RIM to avert the possibility. However, the two parties have not released the details of their agreement.
The U.A.E. had complained that it needed to be able to access encrypted messages sent over the device in certain circumstances. They say that RIM is now compliant with the U.A.E.s telecommunications regulatory framework.
