Microsoft Sues Motorola, Targets Android

Redmond says that Motorola's Android-based phones violate nine Microsoft patents.

International Business Times: Just days before the launch of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft has filed a lawsuit against handset maker Motorola. Redmond claims the other company's Android-based phones infringe on nine Microsoft patents.

The patents in question relate to email synchronization, calendar, contacts, scheduling meetings and applications that alert users about battery and signal status.
