The growth of cloud computing could be bad news for database administrators, network and server administrators, application operation specialists, application integrators and .NET and Java developers.

Computer Weekly: A new Gartner report titled "How to Keep Your Job From Disappearing Into the Cloud" warns that many IT pros could see their jobs disappear as cloud computing improves efficiency. "Many people, including many IT professionals, will certainly lose their jobs because of cloud computing, and many of those jobs will be lost forever," writes Gartner's Joseph Feiman. He also warns that .NET and Java developers could lose their positions to low-cost cloud operations.

Positions less likely to be affected by the growth of the cloud include business analyst, application development analyst, CTO, senior architect and project liaison.
