Big Blue buys its third company this month.

Bloomberg: IBM has announced that it will purchase Blade Network Technologies Inc. for an undisclosed sum. The company, whose investors include Garnett & Helfrich Capital and Juniper Networks Inc., makes switches that connect data center servers, storage and networks.

This is Big Blue's third acquisition this month, following its purchases of Netezza Corp. and OpenPages Inc. In May, IBM CEO Sam Palmisano said the company would spend around $20 billion on acquisitions over the next five years.
