What's Next for Java at Oracle?

Oracle's Thomas Kurian says Java will be getting new graphics, performance and programming capabilities.

Developer.com: At the JavaOne Conference, Oracle's Thomas Kurian laid out the company's roadmap for Java. "We're focused on two very fundamental things with servers and desktops," Kurian said. "To optimize Java for new application models that are emerging classes and for new classes of hardware that we see emerging."

Kurian also detailed plans for Project Coin and Project Lambda; improved interoperability between Java, JavaScript and HTML5; a new graphics push; Netbeans IDE upgrades; and Project Java Mobile.
