Oracle Shares Hit 9-Year High on Robust Tech Spending Hopes

Company reports 25 percent growth in software sales for the quarter.

Reuters: After the company reported good quarterly results, Oracle shares jumped to a nine year high on Friday. The company said that software sales grew 25 percent during the most recent quarter, and hardware sales increased as well.

Analysts say that the company's recent hire of former HP CEO Mark Hurd may also have contributed to the rise in Oracle's stock price.
