The acquisition adds new risk management, compliance and analytics software to Big Blue's portfolio.
InformationWeek: IBM has announced that it will purchase OpenPages, a Massachusetts-based developer of risk management, compliance and business analytics software. Big Blue will add OpenPages' products to its lineup of business analytics products. "Integrating risk management systems across once-divided units and functions is essential to seeing the big picture. The combination of IBM and OpenPages will provide a holistic and consistent approach to risk management, helping companies combine that insight with performance management to drive better decision making," said IBM's Rob Ashe.
Neither company has revealed the financial terms of the deal, but IBM has spent more than $11 million beefing up its business analytics offerings in recent years.
