IT Hiring to Slow in Q4

Tuesday Sep 14th 2010 by Staff

About 3 percent more CIOs plan to hire than those who plan to cut staff. That's better than last year, but not as good as last quarter.

CIO Insight: In the latest Robert Half Technology survey, 9 percent of CIOs said they plan to add staff before the end of the year, while 6 percent said they planned to lay off IT workers. That 3 percent net gain is better than Q4 of 2009, but not as good as Q3 of 2010.

CIOs say that they have the hardest time finding workers with good networking skills, followed by information security and help desk/tech support. The South Atlantic area appears to be the top region in the U.S. for IT hiring.
