HP Buying ArcSight for $1.5 Billion

The security vendor sells products which allow enterprises to monitor activity on their networks.

CIO.com: HP announced Monday that it will purchase security vendor ArcSight for $1.5 billion in a deal that should close before the end of the year. ArcSight provides products which allow enterprises to monitor their networks for signs of suspicious activity.

Oracle, IBM and EMC were also reported to be interested in purchasing the company.
