Microsoft Plans Double-Sized Patch Tuesday Next Week

Usually Microsoft issues few patches in odd-numbered months, but September's update includes 9 updates to patch 13 bugs.

Computerworld: In most odd-numbered months, Microsoft issues few security updates, but next week, Redmond is planning to push out 9 security updates to fix 13 bugs in Windows, Office and its Web server software. That's more than twice as many updates as in any other odd-numbered month this year.

Microsoft considers four of the updates "critical" and five "important."
