Adobe Acrobat, Reader Under Attack From Zero-Day Exploit

Experts recommend that users disable JavaScript in Adobe Reader.

InformationWeek: Security researchers at Secunia are warning about a new exploit of Adobe Acrobat and Reader with attacks in the wild. According to the company, "the vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the font parsing in CoolType.dll and can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow." The vulnerability affects all operating systems and the 8 and 9 versions of Acrobat and Reader.

To protect themselves from attack, experts recommend that users disable JavaScript in Adobe Reader.
