InformationWeek: While Apple's iOS mobile operating system continues to dominate with a 56 percent market share, research firm Quantcast says Android is slowly gaining ground. In August, Android phones accounted for 25 percent of mobile Web traffic. Over the last 12 months, Apple's share of mobile Web traffic has declined 11 percent, but Android's share has grown 17 percent. RIM's share has also fallen by 10 percent.
A separate study by NetMarketShare said the number of iOS users accessing the Web beat the number of Linux users on the Web for the first time in August.
