The number of grown-ups actively texting has grown, but they still haven't caught up with the teenagers.

TG Daily: According to the latest Pew research, 72 percent of all Americans over 18 now regularly send text messages, up from 65 percent last year. That compares to 90 percent of teens who text daily, sending an average of 50 messages per day.

"We’ve reached a point where enough other people are texting that (adults) are drawn into using it because they can finally use it to communicate with a substantial number of their friends and family," said senior researcher Amanda Lenhart.
