VMWare Launches Six New vCloud Products

The company announced the availability of vCloud Director, three new cloud security products, and two new cloud services.

ZDNet: At the VMWorld conference, VMWare took the wraps off six new cloud computing products and services. The first, vCloud Director, extends the capabilities of vSphere to create “pools of compute, network and storage resources with defined management policies, SLAs and pricing.”

The company also unveiled the vShield security portfolio, which includes VMware vShield Edge, VMware vShield App and VMware vShield Endpoint.

Rounding out the list are two cloud-related service offerings: vCloud Datacenter Services, which aims to help enterprises create hybrid clouds, and VMware vCloud Consulting Services, which is more general in nature.
