Wall Street Journal: Instead of shutting off BlackBerry service this week, the Indian government has agreed to allow service to continue for at least 60 more days. During that time, it will examine the feasibility of the technical solution suggested by RIM. That solution would give the government greater access to encrypted messages sent by BlackBerry users.
"RIM have made certain proposals for lawful access by law enforcement agencies and these would be operationalized immediately. The feasibility of the solutions offered would be assessed thereafter," said a spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs.
