In the second quarter, IBM gained 4 points of UNIX market share by luring customers away from HP and Oracle.

InformationWeek: According to IBM, during the 2nd quarter the company convinced 239 companies to switch to its UNIX solutions from those of competitors. That added $262 million in revenue to IBM's coffers and helped it gain 4 points of UNIX market share. The bulk of the wins (171) came at Oracle's expense, and a sizable number (68) came from HP.

The effort is part of IBM's Migration Factory campaign, which has inspired 2,600 conversions since its inception.
