RIM Halves BlackBerry Torch Price to Boost Sales

In response to lackluster sales, RIM is dropping the price on its latest BlackBerry.

PCWorld: The response to the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 has been underwhelming. Consumers have been slow to snatch up the new smartphone and critics have panned it as "not hot enough."

To boost lagging sales, RIM announced that it will drop the Torch price from $199 to $99. Will that be enough to catch up with rivals Android and iOS?
