Microsoft will release a fix for a record-equaling 34 vulnerabilities tomorrow.

ComputerWeekly: The August 10 Patch Tuesday will tie a record set in October 2009 and June 2010; Microsoft will release fixes for 34 vulnerabilities in 14 security bulletins. Nine of those bulletins are rated "critical." The patches affect Internet Explorer, Office, and all versions of Windows.

This will be the first Patch Tuesday after Microsoft discontinued support for Windows XP SP2. Because the release does include fixes for SP3 that are likely relevant to SP2 as well, those who still use SP2 are encouraged to upgrade to SP3 as soon as possible.
