Android Sales Reach 200,000 Per Day

Google CEO Eric Schmidt says Android sales have increased from 160,000 per day in the second quarter.

InformationWeek: Yesterday, Google CEO Eric Schmidt that companies sell 200,000 Android phones every day. If that pace continues, that would mean customers would purchase 30 million phones with Google's operating system between August and the end of the year. "It looks like Android is not just phenomenal but an incredibly phenomenal success in its growth rate," said Schmidt.

Android's success compares to be taking a toll on it's competitors, particularly RIM's BlackBerry whose market share recently dropped by 9 percent.
