Most Smartphones Are Underused

A new Nielsen report shows that only the heaviest smartphone users regularly use their phones' advanced features.

NY Times: A new Nielsen report shows that although a quarter of mobile phone owners have a smartphone, only a select few use their phones' data features. In fact, the top 6 percent of smartphone users are responsible for 50 percent of data consumption, and 25 percent of smartphone users don't consume any data at all.

However, the report also found that data consumption is going up dramatically--it increased 230 percent between 2009 and the first half of 2010.
