Apple's IPad Wins Corporate Converts at Wells Fargo, SAP

While marketed primarily as a consumer device, the iPad is making inroads at large enterprises.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek: Although it has been marketed primarily as a consumer device, a number of enterprises are embracing the iPad. For example, Wells Fargo took two years to before approving the iPhone for corporate use, but the bank approved the iPad in just two weeks, saying the security safeguards were much better. In addition, workers at SAP, Tellabs and Mercedes-Benz are all using the new tablet devices for a variety of tasks.

“This iPad thing has taken the world by storm,” said Forrester's Ted Schadler. “It came in as a consumer product and very quickly the people who actually bought them were business people.”
