The Effect of Cloud Computing On IT Staff

A new survey shows IT pros expect cloud computing to have minimal impact on hiring and budgets.

InformationWeek: A new InformationWeek Analytics survey finds both agreement and disagreement between IT managers and staff regarding cloud computing. First the agreement--both groups believe that cloud computing will have little or no impact on staffing levels and IT budgets over the next 24 months.

However, the two groups disagree sharply over whether their organizations are using or plan to use cloud computing. While 40 percent of upper level managers say they are or will use cloud computing, only 30 percent of middle managers and 20 percent of staffers say the same thing.
