Sony to Recall Half-Million Laptops on Heat Risk

Owners of 535,000 Vaio laptops need to return their PCs for repair or download a software fix.

Cnet: Sony has recalled 535,000 Vaio laptops, including 259,000 sold in the U.S., because of a problem with the temperature control. The problem could cause the the F and C series Vaios to overheat and warp or could even burn users.

The company issued the recall after receiving 39 complaints. To fix the problem, owners can either contact Sony to do the repair work or download a software patch.
