SQL Anywhere 12 Key to SAP's Plans for Sybase

Sybase has released the latest version of its mobile database.

Computerworld: Tuesday, Sybase announced the that the latest version of its mobile database--SQL Anywhere 12--will become available in July. The new release supports large scale data synchronization (allowing many mobile workers to share data company-wide), Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4.0. It also features new sync implementations tools, self-management capabilities and a server scale-out capability.

SAP announced that it will purchase Sybase earlier this year, and company calls SQL Anywhere 12 one of the "crown jewels" that it will acquire when the sale is complete.
