Hundreds Wait in Line to Purchase iPhone 4

Lines were long at Apple Stores across the U.S., and some people even camped out overnight.

Macworld: Although some customers received their pre-ordered iPhones early, this morning was the first chance for most people in the Japan, Germany, France, the U.K. and the U.S to get their hands on Apple's newest device. In New York, the line outside the Apple Store snaked almost all the way around the block, with several customers lining up early Wednesday evening.

In Farmington, Conn., more than 500 customers stood in line at the Apple Store inside the local mall waiting for the store to open. However, some savvy consumers realized that the Apple Store wasn't the only place to buy the iPhone 4--they started a much smaller line at the Radio Shack directly across from the Apple Store.
