Wall Street Journal: In terms of units shipped, Acer is currently the second largest PC manufacturer, but company chairman J.T. Wang says they'll be number one by the end of the year. "We have responded faster than our competitors to the demand in the market," he said at a shareholders meeting. "We are one of a very few that is able to respond to the market when demand stabilized in the latter part of the second quarter because we were prepared."
Acer hopes to ship 10 million units this year, and Wang predicts that company profits will rise 10 to 15 percent in the third quarter.
