Nearly two thirds of IT security staffers surveyed say that their processes are ineffective.

CIO Insight: A new survey by security vendor SenSage shows that IT security staffers have low opinions of their organizations' security practices. Findings include the following:

  • 61 percent of respondents say that their internal stakeholders/customers do not consider their IT security processes to be effective.
  • Nearly 60 percent say that their security management process isn't coordinated or is "reactive triage."
  • Nearly 70 percent say their security processes either aren't measured for results or aren't consistently measured.
  • 80 percent say that pro-active process improvement initiatives are either understaffed, inconsistent or non-existent.
