eWeek: According to market research firm iSuppli, the worldwide PC market grew 22.7 percent in the first quarter of 2010, the largest year-over-year growth rate ever. PC makers shipped 81.5 million units--up from 66.5 million the year before.

Asian manufacturers like Asus, Samsung, Lenovo and Acer reported some of the strongest sales growth during the period. While the market leaders--HP and Dell--maintained their positions as number one and number two, respectively, their sales did not grow as fast as the overall market.
