More Than A Dozen iPad-Rivals Shown At Computex

Global manufacturers show off tablets based on Windows, Android and Meego.

Computerworld: Global manufacturers have been watching the success of the iPad and have decided they want a piece of the action. Companies including Asustek Computer, Micro-Star International (MSI), Foxconn, Acer and Compal Electronics unveiled more than a dozen new tablets at the Computex show in Taiwan.

The more noteworthy new products included Compal's Android-based tablet which docks into a set of speakers, MSI's Windows-based Wind Pad and Asustek's Windows-based Eee pads.
