Asustek Unveils Tablet, to Take on Apple's iPad

The Eee Pad will feature Windows 7 and will be available in the first quarter of 2011.

Wall Street Journal: At the Computex show, Asustek took the wraps off a Windows-based tablet that will compete with the iPad. Building on the success of its Eee netbooks, the company is calling the device the "Eee Pad." 10-inch and 12-inch models will sell for between $399 and $449 beginning in the first quarter of 2011.

In a new move for the company, Asustek will also open an app store to provide software for the device.
