Shoppers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. lined up to get their hands on Apple's latest gadget.

Wall Street Journal: Until now, the iPad has only been available in the U.S. But today, the Apple put the new mobile device up for sale in nine other countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K.

In every location, consumers lined up to be among the first to purchase the new product, with some camping out overnight. "At the rate they're walking out the door, we estimate we're going to run out of stock here by 5 p.m.," said a Sydney Apple store employee.
