ZDNet: During today's Application Infrastructure Virtual Launch Event, Microsoft will announce the availability of the Release Candidate (RC) test build of Windows Server AppFabric and a first public beta of its BizTalk Server 2010 integration server. Both products are part of Redmond's strategy for developing products and services for the private cloud.
Server AppFabric combines the Dublin app server, Velocity caching technology, and other Windows infrastructure elements to provide high availability for Web apps and better management for on-premise apps. The final version will be released in June.
The latest BizTalk release adds support for Server AppFabric, and the final version should become available in the third quarter of this year.
