Android 2.2 Could Up Speed for Mobile Devices, Add Adobe Flash

An enthusiast site claims the latest version of Android runs up to 450 percent faster than the last version.

Enterprise Mobile Today: Android enthusiast site has run some benchmark tests on a Nexus One running Android 2.2 (codenamed "Froyo") with dramatic results. According to the site, the latest version of Android shows up to a 450 percent improvement in performance over Android 2.1.

Those performance improvements may be the reason why Google plans for the mobile operating system to support Flash, which requires a lot of CPU resources.

The site also believes Google will release Android 2.2 May 19 or 20, but Google hasn't commented on that rumor.
