An enthusiast site claims the latest version of Android runs up to 450 percent faster than the last version.

Enterprise Mobile Today: Android enthusiast site AndroidPolice.com has run some benchmark tests on a Nexus One running Android 2.2 (codenamed "Froyo") with dramatic results. According to the site, the latest version of Android shows up to a 450 percent improvement in performance over Android 2.1.

Those performance improvements may be the reason why Google plans for the mobile operating system to support Flash, which requires a lot of CPU resources.

The site also believes Google will release Android 2.2 May 19 or 20, but Google hasn't commented on that rumor.
