AMD's New Mobile Chips

The number two processor manufacturer has launched a new line of triple- and quad-core chips for laptops.

PCMagazine: In its never-ending bid to compete with Intel, AMD has launched a new line of triple- and quad-core chips for laptops. The "Phenom II" chips will mark the first time the company has included more than two cores in a mobile processors.

In addition to the improved CPU power, the chips will also boast better battery life. They are expected to appear in at least 109 laptop models this year.
