Majority of Small Businesses Use Social Media, Report Finds

70 percent of small businesses use sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter.

eWeek: A new report from AMI-Partners says that 70 percent of SMBs in the U.S. use blogs and sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Twitter. However, while 61 percent of mid-sized businesses believe that social media is strategically important for their company's success, only 30 percent of small businesses feel the same way.

“The use of social media still proves to be a difficult concept for SMBs to align their business with, in terms of administering the full breadth and depth of the online tools and maximizing their return on marketing investment [ROMI],” said AMI's Jacqueline Atkinson.
