Hewlett-Packard To Kill Windows 7 Tablet Project

Yet another potential iPad competitor gets the axe.

TechCrunch: Unnamed sources have told TechCrunch that HP will not produce the Windows 7 tablet that Steve Ballmer showed off at the CES 2010 show. They say that the company was dissatisfied with the OS for tablet devices, and the power-hungry Intel architecture may also have contributed to the demise of the project.

Industry watchers speculate that HP will focus on Google Android devices or perhaps create a new tablet based on the WebOS platform it picked up earlier this week when it purchased Palm.
