If you're still working on fixing PCs affected by the bad McAfee update, relief may be in sight.

eWeek: Last week, McAfee issued a faulty update which caused users' PCs to reboot repeatedly and required lengthy manual cleanup to fix. Now the company's Web site says that it will pay for "reasonable expenses" to fix the machines and will give affected users a free two-year extension to subscription services.

McAfee says that the error affected one half of 1 percent of enterprise customers and an even smaller percentage of home users.
