Computerworld: On Thursday, Oracle launched Enterprise Manager 11g, a new system management software platform. Oracle President Charles Phillips said the new product can help enterprises mitigate "the complexity that you've all been struggling with for years." He added, "It's about trying to finally get control of this complex thing called IT. We're just getting to the point in the industry and in Oracle's strategy where that's now possible."
The tool includes capabilities for business-driven application management, integrated application-to-disk management and integrated systems management and support. It competes with offerings from IBM, Hewlett-Packard, CA and BMC.
