Adobe Calling Quits on Flash for iPhone

Adobe will suspend development of the Flash-to-iPhone tool and instead concentrate its efforts on the Android platform.

PCWorld: Adobe has announced it is throwing in the towel in its battle to get Flash on the iPhone and iPad. The latest Apple developer agreement bans apps that use Flash, and it doesn't look like that policy will change anytime soon. Rumors even suggest that Apple is considering suing Adobe over the Flash controversy.

For the time being, Adobe will still ship the Flash-to-iPhone converter in its Creative Suite 5, but it will not be developing the tool any further. "Fortunately, the iPhone isn't the only game in town," said Adobe's Mike Chambers, who explained that Adobe is now working with Google on Flash for the Android platform.
