PCWorld: Over the weekend, controversy erupted after Engadget posted photos of an alleged new version of the iPhone that was supposedly found on the floor of a San Jose bar.
Soon after the site published the photos, a number of critics called the story a hoax. Others said the phone was just a counterfeit iPhone from Asia, but the photos posted with that story turned out to be a hoax themselves. Throughout it all, Engadget has stuck by its guns and rounded up more evidence that the iPhone is the real deal.
PCWorld chronicles the whole saga, with links to the photos in question so that you can judge for yourself.
