Apple Delays Global Release of iPad for a Month

Strong U.S. demand means that international customers won't be able to get their hands on an iPad until the end of May.

NY Times: Apple had planned to begin selling the iPad outside the U.S. by the end of April. But that was before the device beat sales projections, with more than half a million delivered during the first week of availability.

“Faced with this surprisingly strong U.S. demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May,” Apple said in a statement.
