Macworld: Today, Adobe has officially released Creative Suite 5 (a.k.a. CS5), its suite of applications and services for designers, developers, and other creative professionals. The new release includes upgrades for 14 existing apps, notably Photoshop, InDesign, DreamWeaver, Illustrator, and its apps for Flash developers.
With the recent controversy surrounding Apple's new developer agreement which bans the use of Flash on its devices, much attention focused on CS5's Flash-to-iPhone packager that would have allowed developers to create Flash apps that run on Apple devices. In response, Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch wrote, "We intend to still deliver this capability in CS5, and it is up to Apple whether they choose to allow or disallow applications as their rules shift over time."
