North American researchers say that Chinese spies stole data from the Indian Defense Ministry, the Dalai Lama, and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

NY Times: In a newly published report, researchers in the United States and Canada reveal that they have been monitoring a Chinese spying operation for eight months. They allege that the so-called "Shadow Network" hacked into systems at the Indian Defense Ministry, stole information about India's missile systems, obtained the Dalai Lama's personal e-mails for the past year, and took travel-related documents from NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Although the hackers appear to be based in Chengdu, the Chinese government vehemently denies being involved in the matter.
