A new streaming analytics system will help the agency analyze data-in-motion and conduct deeper analyses of stored data.

TechNewsWorld: IBM and the FAA are working together on a new security system designed to protect the country's air travelers from the threat of cyberattack. The project will introduce a new security analytics technology--the first of its kind--that analyzes data in motion and performs deeper analysis of stored data as well.

The ambitious project will tackle the challenge of monitoring the vast amount of data flowing through the agency's networks. "It's like drinking out of a fire hose," said Josyula Rao, the project's research leader.
