Apple is building a new iPhone that will work with the technology used by Verizon and Sprint Nextel.

Wall Street Journal: Until now, the iPhone only worked with the AT&T network. Now, sources tell the Wall Street Journal that Apple will begin producing an iPhone that can access CDMA networks--the type of networks used by Verizon and Sprint Nextel.

The CDMA model will be manufactured by Pegatron Technology Corp., the contract manufacturing subsidiary of Taiwan's ASUSTeK Computer Inc., and mass production is slated to begin in September.
