IBM Opens China Lab

Researchers at the Xi'an facility will focus on developing predictive analytics software.

Information Week: IBM has announced that it's opening a new research lab in Xi'an, China, that will focus on developing predictive analytics software. The tools are popular with businesses in the banking, healthcare, telecommunications, and energy industries.

"IBM is focusing on helping clients gain faster intelligence on their information to improve their business operations and predict trends before they occur," said senior vice president Steve Mills.

Market researcher IDC predicts that the market for business analytics software will grow 10 percent per year through 2013.
