Google Analytics Is Preparing Plug-in to Protect User Privacy

Users will soon have the option of opting-out of Google Analytics.

eWeek: Web users who don't like having their actions tracked by Google Analytics will soon have a choice in the matter. The company is preparing a browser plug-in that will allow people to opt out of the data collection tool.

"Over the past year, we have been exploring ways to offer users more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics," Google's Amy Change wrote in a blog. "We concluded that the best approach would be to develop a global browser based plug-in to allow users to opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics."
