New Google Apps Marketplace may allow the company to gain ground in the enterprise.

CIO.com: In the newly unveiled Google Apps Marketplace, users can download apps that work with Google's cloud-based apps. The new app store currently contains 50 third-party tools that enhance Gmail, Google Calendar, and other popular Google applications.

Dan Olds, an analyst with The Gabriel Consulting Group, said this new move is a smart one. "This move not only raises the profile of Google apps for business and individual users alike, it also plays on the so-called app mania that has propelled platforms like the iPhone and other devices into prominence."
