Want A Job? Get A Computer Science Degree

Universities report that enrollment is up in computer science and engineering programs.

NetworkWorld: Top university computer science programs are encouraging undergrads to study technology, and students are taking their advice in the hopes that tech-related degrees will help them find employment in a down economy. In fact, universities report that graduates with computer science degrees found some of the highest paying jobs last year.

"We had placed 87 percent of our undergraduates in jobs as of last spring," says Cedric Stallworth, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Enrollment at Georgia Tech's College of Computing. "The financial sector — credit card companies, insurance companies — are very much interested in computer science students, as are defense companies and software development and networking companies."
